In Memory of Jim Clark

The 2025 Jim Clark Revival at Hockenheim once again brought together an exceptional collection of historic racing machinery, with a particular focus on the single-seaters that have shaped the history of motorsport.

From Formula Junior cars to Formula 3 machines, including the iconic Ralt RT3, and a superb field of historic Formula 1 cars, the event offered a unique opportunity to witness several generations of racing technology sharing the same circuit. The sound, speed and elegance of these cars provided a fitting tribute to Jim Clark, one of the greatest drivers ever to race a single-seater.

The weekend also featured spectacular touring car races with historic DTM machinery. Among the highlights was the presence of former factory driver Kris Nissen behind the wheel of a BMW M3 E30, one of the most iconic cars of the championship’s golden era.

Nissen’s appearance carried special significance. In 1988, while testing a Porsche 962 ahead of the Fuji 500 Miles, he suffered a major accident that left him with serious injuries and nearly ended his racing career. Seeing him back behind the wheel of a historic racing car decades later was a reminder of both the risks and resilience that have always been part of motorsport.

These photographs capture some of the sights and atmosphere of a weekend dedicated to the machines, drivers and stories that continue to keep motorsport history alive.
